During 2021, Cybereco conducted a survey of nearly 150 large Quebec companies to assess the cybersecurity situation, with the participation of two of Cybereco’s academic members, Benoit Dupont (Université de Montréal) and Richard Fontaine (Université de Sherbrooke).
The survey included questions on cybersecurity governance and strategy, as well as issues related to cybersecurity threats, protection and awareness. This survey sheds light on the state of cybersecurity in medium and large companies in Quebec.
It highlights the fact that 80% of the companies surveyed have a security manager, while the major issue of labour shortage persists according to 94% of the participating companies, which still find it difficult to recruit qualified personnel.
